Zac Farley, J.D.
Director of Legislative Affairs
Zac Farley, a lifelong resident of Arkansas, is a retired law enforcement officer and military veteran dedicated to public service. He is also a committed advocate for first responder and veteran issues, especially mental health and overall wellness. His many years of experience, in multiple capacities, gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges faced by those who serve.
After 25 years in law enforcement, Zac retired as a Major from the Little Rock Police Department. During his time with LRPD, he was fortunate to serve in many different positions, from patrol officer to division commander. After serving initially on patrol, he was able to gain experience working in the Training, Detective, Administration, and Special Operations Divisions. He credits his varied experience as a major factor in being able to see things from different viewpoints while focusing on the common mission.
Zac is a Past President of the Little Rock Fraternal Order of Police and currently serves on the Executive Board as the Immediate Past President. Although he retired from active service, he remains passionate about issues faced by law enforcement and using his experience to provide guidance to organizational members, ranging from local policy issues to state legislative efforts.
In addition to his career in law enforcement, Zac also served as a Combat Engineer with the Arkansas Army National Guard. In 2006, he deployed with the 875th Engineer Battalion to Iraq where his unit conducted route clearance missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Zac holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and a Juris Doctor from the William H. Bowen School of Law.
When he is not working, Zac enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on the lake, with his wife, Karen, and their two sons.
